Omanhene of Sefwi Wiawso Returns From Trip To Europe

The chiefs and people of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional area have held a grand durbar at Wiawso to welcome the Omanhene of the area, Nana Nkuah Okumdum, from his six-month trip to Europe. The durbar was attended by all the chiefs in the area and heads of department from the Sefwi Wiawso and the Juabeso-Bia Districts. In a speech, the District Chief Executive, Mr.. Evans Paul Aidoo, asked the chiefs and the people to eschew back-biting undermining and selfish tendencies which, he said, are retarding the progress of the area. He said it is only through united and concerted efforts that the communities can develop. Mr.. Aidoo observed that chiefs as factors of development should mobilise their people to undertake development projects in order to better their living conditions. He, therefore, asked the chiefs to co-operate with the Omanhene for this purpose. The Omanhene, Nana Nkuah Okumdum, called on chiefs and people in the area to make greater sacrifices to help the government in its development efforts.
