Omanhene calls for accelerated development of Ahafo-Ano North

Tepa (Ash), Nov 2, GNA – Nana Adusei Atwenewah Ampem, Paramount chief of the Tepa Traditional Area in the Ahafo-Ano North District has called on the government to quicken the pace of development in the district to match other areas.

He said the district in general and the Tepa Traditional Area had not witnessed any significant development.

Nana Atwenewah Ampem made the call during a courtesy call on him by Mr Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, Deputy Minister of Information at Tepa on Friday as part of his weeklong tour of nine selected districts in Ashanti.

The chief mentioned poor telephone facilities, inadequate school infrastructure and poor roads as some of the areas, which needed immediate attention.

Mr Asamoah-Boateng commended the chief for bringing these inadequacies in the district to his attention and said it was a sign of true democracy.

He explained the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to the people and said it would take off in January next year and therefore, asked them to join the programme so as to benefit from quality health care delivery.

Mr Asamoah-Boateng inspected some HIPC funded projects at Anyinasuso and Mmeredane as part of his tour.
