Omanhene appeals for settlement of dispute

Brakwa (C/R), March 4, GNA – The Omanhene of the Breman Asikuma Traditional Council, Nana Amoakwa Boadu VII has appealed to the Methodist Church Ghana to collaborate with the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, Mr Sampson K. Anfako to settle the chieftaincy dispute at Brakwa.

The Omanhene who was speaking as a special guest at the inauguration of the Brakwa Circuit of the Church and the induction into office the Very Reverend Mercy Osei, as the first Superintendent Minister made the appeal when he saw both the alleged destooled Chief, Nana Yamoah IV and the Queen mother, Nana Yaa Asantewaa III who is the petitioner at the function.

He said he was aware of the fact that the chieftaincy dispute, which had impeded the progress of the community, was a matter of serious concern to the DCE.

The Omanhene noted that the DCE who was a native of Brakwa could team up with the Church that he was a staunch member to solve the problem, which was retarding the progress of the town could be solved. The DCE who was present at the function thanked the Omanhene for the suggestion and said an attempt would be made to solve the dispute.
