Ologo re-elected President of Eastern Regional House of Chiefs

Koforidua, Oct. 29, GNA – Nene Narh Dawutey Ologo, Konor of Yilo Krobo, was on Wednesday re-elected unopposed as the President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs for another four-year term of office, in Koforidua.

Daasebre Dr Oti Boateng, Omanhene, New Juaben Traditional Area, was also elected unopposed as the Vice-President. Okotwasuo Kantamanto Oworae Agyekum III, Omanhene of Akyem Bosome Traditional Area, Osagyefuo Ofori Panin Amoatia, Okyenhene and Nana Osei Nyarko III, Omanhene of Bosu-Guan Traditional Area were also elected unopposed to join Nene Ologo and Daasebre Oti Boateng as the Regional representatives to the National House of Chiefs. The five chiefs were later sworn into office by Justice G.S. Suurebareh, a Koforidua High Court Judge.

They took the oath of secrecy and allegiance. Nene Ologo thanked the chiefs for the confidence reposed in him and said his first term had not been all that smooth but “amends could be made”.

He called for closer co-operation from the chiefs and the Regional Co-ordinating Council towards amicably settlement of all chieftaincy disputes in the area.
