OLG Hospital acquires massaging machine

The Management of Our Lady of Grace Hospital, Breman Asikuma, has acquired an ultra modern luxurious massaging machine valued at $5,000 to help promote healthcare delivery at the facility.

Rev. Father Oteng-Dumfeh, Parish Priest of Breman Asikuma Catholic Church commissioned the machine at a ceremony to mark the 22nd World Day of the Sick at Breman Asikuma.

Representatives of the GPRTU and the Ahmadyya Mission, partners of the hospital, and Rev. Sister Edwige H. Gaba, Sister in charge of the hospital, were also present at the celebration.

The day was on the theme “Faith and charity, “we ought to lay down our lives for one another”.

Activities such as a candlelight procession through the town, health talks on the local FM station and an interaction with the general public heralded the day.

Rev. Sister Gaba thanked God for guiding them throughout the year and rendering quality healthcare to the sick who patronize the hospital.

According to her, the acquisition of the massage machine would assist in their work and would go a long way to help patients who visit the hospital.

Earlier, Rev. Father Oteng-Dumfeh had led a Mass for all sick and suffering people and asked for God’s continuous protection and guidance of those who take care of the sick.

In a sermon, Rev. Father Dumfeh said the Day was set aside through the initiative of Pope John Paul II, for prayers to be said for sick and suffering people, and caretakers of the sick, as well as taking stock of their previous activities and plans for the future.

He appealed to society to stop intimidating the sick and suffering because “doing so could worsen their suffering and lead to their early death.”
