Old students warn encroachers on school’s lands

The Old Students Association of the Sunyani Senior High School (SOSA), has warned encroachers on the school’s lands to keep off, or face its anger.

It alerted the general public to be wary of some unscrupulous people who are unlawfully and indiscriminately selling out portions of the school’s lands, and warned that those who buy such lands do so at their own risk.

At a news conference in Sunyani, the Association advised those who had already acquired portions of the 466.70-acre land, to collect their monies back.

“This is because not even an inch of this land would be allowed to go into private hands”, Mr Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, President of the Brong-Ahafo Regional branch of SOSA declared.

He expressed regret about the rate at which people were encroaching on the school’s lands, emphasizing that “as old students, we shall resist any attempt to deny future generations of the generous gesture of the late Nana Kwaku Barnie and the Sunyani Traditional Council”.

Mr Tuah-Yeboah disclosed that the Association intended to organize a peaceful demonstration to register its displeasure on the matter, and advised the old students, both home and abroad, who had not registered with the Association to support and participate in preserving the school’s lands.
