Old Students Association donates to school

Kumasi, March 3, GNA – The Old Students Association of the Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic School at Amakom in Kumasi has donated some items worth millions of cedis to the school. The items included teacher’s desks and tables, footballs and a set of traditional drums.

Mr Joseph Agyekum, Chairman of the Association, making the presentation said it was in response to an appeal made by the school authorities.

He said the Association had plans to liaise with past students of the school who were now outside the country to raise funds and provide an Information Communication Technology (ICT) Centre for the school. Mr Anthony Abayie, the Headmaster, who received the items thanked the old students for the support and appealed to individuals and organisations to come to the aid of the school.

He called on the Parent-Teacher Association to assist fence the school that had become a haven for drug pushers and criminals. Nana Kwaku Kyere, Kyidomhene of Amakom, who chaired the function, stressed the need for parents and guardians to send their children to school and provide them with their basic needs.

He urged churches and other civil society organisations to help find lasting to the increasing indiscipline, which had engulfed the country.
