Larteh-Akuapem (E/R), March 18, GNA – Mr Sam Walker, a US-based native of Larteh, has donated 15 computers, assorted books, eight footballs and training kits to the Benkum Secondary School, Larteh, his alma mater, on Thursday.
Presenting the items, Mr Walker said the donation was made possible by some friends and relatives in the US to help enhance teaching and learning in the school.
He advised the students to study hard so as to pass their examinations and not to put blames on others or witchcrafts for their failures and problems in the future.
Mr Walker promised more of such donations to the school in the future.
The Assistant Headmaster in-charge of administration of the school, Mr Emmanuel Koram Otu, who received the items, thanked Mr Walker and his family for the kind gesture.
He assured him of the school’s preparedness to put the computers and the other items to good use to improve learning in the school. Mr Otu appealed to other benevolent societies to come to the aid of the school, especially, in the provision of accommodation to staff, adding, “our staff strength is more than the bungalows available in the school.”
He appealed to the government to help expand the school’s library to contain the students, who he said are more than 1,300.
