OLAM installs Parish Priest

Tema, Oct. 02, GNA – Very Reverend Father Gabriel Liashiedzi was on Sunday installed as the Parish Priest of the Our Lady of Mercy (OLAM) Catholic Church, at a service at Community One in Tema.

Until his appointment, which took effect from June 1, this year, Very Rev. Fr. Liashiedzi, ordained seven years ago, was the Assistant Parish Priest at OLAM.

Monsignor Stephen Adu-Kwaning, Vicar-General of the Accra Archdiocese of the Church, who performed the installation asked the new parish priest to develop the spirit of humility in order to minister faithfully to the congregation.

Earlier in a sermon, Msgr. Adu-Kwaning reiterated the call on politicians to tolerate divergent views, and accept constructive criticisms to help move the nation’s democratic dispensation forward. The Vicar-General advised Christians to guard against negative tendencies, such as jealousy in their dealings with their fellow men. Taking his oath of office, Fr. Liashiedzi pledged to lead and shepherd God’s flock in all sincerity, humility and obedience. 02 Oct. 06
