Okyenhene returns from UK

Accra, July 19, GNA – Osagyefo Ofori Panyin Amoatia II, Okyehene returned home on Friday after a two-week visit to the United Kingdom at the head of a 25-member delegation of opinion leaders of the Abuakwa Traditional Council.

Briefing Newsmen on arrival at the Kotoka International Airport, Accra, Osabarima Woe II of the Council, said the visit was to assure the international community that Ghana was a safe place to invest. He said the Okyenhene had the opportunity to meet with Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales during which they discussed wide range of issues including the Commonwealth Development Cooperation on the establishment of oil palm plantation in Ghana.

The Okyehene also met the Royal Society for the Blind to discussion the need for co-operation between the society and its counterpart in Ghana. Osabarima Woe said the Okyenhene also met with the Mayor of Prent, with whom he held discussions with for the need for mutual collaboration between Prent and Okyeman for their progress.

Osagyefo Amoatia II also visited the House of Lords and urged the Ghanaian community in the UK to adopt children from deprived communities in Ghana, especially those in the rural areas to educate them.
