Okyehene calls for rehabilitation of roads in E/R

Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, Okyehene, and President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, has called for the rehabilitation of roads in the Eastern Region, which he described as terrible.

Osagyefo Amoatia said this during the visit of the Minister of Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs, Dr Henry Seidu Dannaa, as part of activities marking his visit to the region.

Osagyefo Amoatia said education in the region was deplorable, because schools are overcrowded, curriculums are outdated, and teachers are grossly underpaid.

He, therefore, appealed to government to improve conditions in the education sector. Dr Dannaa urged the chiefs to work together for the development of their areas.

He cautioned the chiefs against litigation, adding that it was a waste of time and could draw the chieftaincy institution backward. He advised traditional authorities to learn how to live in peace with one another.

He said the doors of his Ministry are always opened to traditional authorities.
