Okiti-Duah loses Ledzokuku seat

Ledzokuku MP Sena Okiti-Duah has lost her seat to the main opposition New Patriotic Party’s Dr Okoe Boye.

Mrs Okiti-Duah polled 43,092 votes while Dr Boye had 45,259. The results are provisional. The Electoral Commission is yet to certify the results.

Mrs Okiti-Duah is not the only incumbent who has lost. Akwatia MP Baba Jamal has also lost his seat to the main opposition New Patriotic Party’s candidate, Mercy Ama Sey.

According to provisional results, the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations polled 15,905 votes while Ama Sey got 21,433 of the total valid votes cast.

Mr Jamal won Akwatia on his fourth attempt in 2012 but now, according to the provisional results in the December 7 polls, has lost it. He beat Dr Kofi Adu Asare in 2012. Mr Jamal polled 20, 308 votes while Dr Adu Asare had 19, 737 votes.

Also, Amadu Sorogho has lost the Madina seat to the NPP’s Boniface Abubakar Saddique.
