Okaishie Queenmother presents gifts to school children

Accra, Oct 14, GNA – Naa Korkor Tsuru, Queen mother of Okaishie, the central business area of Accra, has presented pencils and erasers and Cowbell milk products to Class One pupils of the Independence Avenue Cluster of Basic Schools. Speaking during the presentation, which was to welcome the Class One pupils to school, Naa Korkor Tsuru, noted that the beginning of one’s formal education was 93unique period in the life of the pupil, which must be made memorable=94. She said her 93widow’s mite=94 was to help make the beginning of the children’s education, 93A lifetime imprint on the minds of the kids=94.

Naa Korkor Tsuru pointed out that the achievement one would chalk in his or her future career and profession depended on the kind of foundation they would build and said her presentation was also to motivate and encourage the children to develop an interest in school to continue their education.

The Okaishie Queenmother who was accompanied by Captain Nii Ayitey of the Ghana Armed Forces based at Asutsuare, urged parents to provide the needs of their children, assist them with their homework and to co-operate with teachers to ensure their education and moral training. Naa Korkor Tsuru expressed concern about the state of facilities at the school and said due to its location in the heart of the capital’s business centre, businesses and organisations should rush to help improve teaching and learning.
