Oil-palm farmers in Ahafo Ano South to benefit from PSI

Mankranso (Ash), Feb. 25, GNA – About 200 farmers of the Ahafo Ano South District Oil-palm Growers Association are to benefit from the President’s Special Initiative (PSI) on oil palm when it takes off in the District this year. Mr George Agyepong, Nursery Operator of the PSI in the Tano North and South Districts in the of Brong- Ahafo Region who made this known while addressing members of the Association at Mankranso said oil mills would be sited in some of the oil-palm production areas.

Mr Stephen Sarkodie Mensah District Chairman of the Association said the Association was determined to allocate over 5,000 hectares for the project. Mr Joseph Agyemang Dapaah, the acting Presiding Member of the Ahafo Ano South District Assembly asked the farmers to embrace the PSI to help reduce poverty in the communities.
