Oguaa schools sensitised on Community Policing

The Director of Community Policing Unit of the Ghana Police Service, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mrs Habiba Twumasi-Sarpong has embarked on a sensitisation programme in schools, radio stations and lorry parks in the Cape Coast Metropolis.

The visit took her to Mfantsipim Senior High school, Philip Quaque Girls’ Basic School, Tantri lorry station and Radio Central to educate them on violence control, personal security both at home and community level.

Addressing the final year students of Mfantsipim School ACP Twumasi-Sarpong urged them to take their studies seriously and come out as responsible people since they are the future leaders of the country.

She advised the students to be role models for their peers and urged them to be careful in whatever they do and think critically before taking any action to avoid trouble.

She said there would be general election on November 7 and they should not be swayed to engage in acts that would bring trouble between them and the law enforcement agencies.

ACP Twumasi-Sarpong asked them to see the police as their friends, partners and security agents and should endeavour to share with them any information that would help create safer environment before, during and after the general election.

Chief Inspector Baffour Awuah also with the Community Police Unit who accompanied ACP Twumasi-Sarpong took the students through topics like, Crime Analysis Methods, Narcotic Drugs, Stealing, and Robbery.

He advised them to desist from exposing their valuable items, discussing how rich their parents are and what they send to school with strangers.

They should inform their relations to be careful with telephone conversations in public since such calls could easily attract criminals.
