Cape Coast, Jan. 01, GNA – Ten babies made up of seven boys and three girls were delivered in three hospitals and a health centre on New Year’s Day in the Cape Coast Municipality, as against 11, made up of six boys and five girls on the eve of New Year.
At the Cape Coast Regional Hospital, popularly called “Interbeton”, Mrs Theresa Afful-Dapaah, Senior Staff Midwife, told the GNA that three births, made up of a boy and two girls were delivered at the hospital on New Year’s Day, and seven deliveries, on the eve of New Year, made up of four boys and three girls including twins. Mrs Doris Garchie, Senior Midwifery Superintendent at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Hospital said a boy was delivered on New Year’s Day and no delivery on the eve of New Year.
Mrs Florence Quainoo, Nursing Officer at Cape Coast District Hospital said a boy was delivered at the hospital on New Year’s Day and two babies, a boy and a girl on New Year’s eve.
Mrs Dorothy Morgue, Senior Midwife at Ewim Urban Health Centre said five deliveries made up of four boys and a girl were recorded at the centre on New Year’s Day, while two babies, a boy and a girl were delivered on the eve of New Year.
