Oguaa Court destroys wrappers of Indian hemp

Sixty-five wrappers of Indian hemp and a quantity of the drug in its powdery form which were exhibited in court were on Tuesday destroyed by the Cape Coast Circuit Court Registry.

The destruction followed orders given by Mr. Asare Nyarko and Mrs. Florence Kai Ninepence, both judges of two circuit courts in cases involving Isaac Amoah and Kwabena Forson.

Isaac Amoah was arrested on November 15, 2010 at Abura in Cape Coast in possession of 13 wrappers of Indian hemp without lawful authority.

He was convicted on his own plea and was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in hard labour on January 31, 2014.

Kwabena Forson who was arrested with 52 wrappers of Indian hemp and a mini size black polythene bag containing the powdery form of the narcotic. The case is l ongoing at the court presided over by Mrs. Florence Kai Ninepence.

The team that destroyed the narcotic was led by Mrs. Henrietta Abaidoo, the Cape Coast Circuit Court Registrar, a police officer and a GNA reporter representing the news media.
