Oguaa circuit court remands farmer for defilement

Cape Coast, Oct 1, GNA – A 40-year-old farmer, Kobina Ebo, who on Wednesday admitted before a circuit court in Cape Coast that he defiled a 13-year-old girl at Ajumako-Assasan has been remanded in prison custody pending sentence on October 13.

Ebo pleaded guilty to defilement and appealed to the court to deal leniently with him because he had regretted his action. Superintendent of Police Godact Dodzi Hlordzi told the court that on the night of September 11 the victim, who lives in the same area with the accused, was sent by her mother to send food to her grandmother. On her way back, Ebo met her and asked her to buy food for him but when she returned, he pulled her into his room, sexually abused her and warned that he would kill her if she mentioned it to anyone. Ebo also promised to give the girl GH¢10.00 but when she got home she informed her mother who made a report to the police and Ebo was arrested.
