Oguaa assured of bumper harvest this year

Cape Coast, Sept 03, GNA – The chiefs and people of Oguaaman have lifted ban on fishing in the Fosu Lagoon to commence a new fishing season as part of the week-long Fetu Afahye celebrations.

The well attended ceremony was witnessed by people who wore mourning cloths and they included tourists, Africans from the Diaspora.

The Omanhen’s net was cast into the lagoon three times and each time it caught variety of fishes indicating a bumper harvest this season.

Earlier, a regatta was held during which Bentsir came first, followed by Nkum whiles Anaafo was third.

They were awarded prices from Kasapreko and Social Marketing Foundation, distributors of “Protector Gold plus condoms”, who sponsored of the regatta.
