Ofosu-Ampofo says NPP neglected Fanteakwa

Begoro, Aug 20, GNA – The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu- Ampofo, said on Friday that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) did nothing for the people of Fanteakwa during its eight- year rule.

He said the people of Fanteakwa did not benefit from any positive thing in terms of infrastructure and other development projects from the Kufour led administration.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo therefore assured the people that the government of the NDC would do all it could to develop the area.

He said this when he addressed the chiefs and people of Nkankama near Begoro at a durbar as part of his three-day tour of the district.

He visited Obooho, Akora Darko, Ahomahomasu, Dedeso and Dorminase where he addressed similar durbars.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo, who was one time Member of Parliament and District Chief Executive, assured the people that the NDC government was ready to partner with them to develop the area.

He said a number of projects had been earmarked to be undertaken within the shortest possible time to improve the standard of the people.

Some of them are schools, roads, markets public places of convenience and electrification.

Mr Ofosu Ampofo said the road from Obooho to Ayesu would soon be reconstructed, and a six-unit classroom block at a cost of GHC 150,000 had been awarded on contract for the Ayesu District Assembly Primary School.

He said a bridge would be constructed over River Osubeng at Osubenbour.
