Ofosu-Ampofo not happy about performance of Zoomlion

Koforidua, April 23, GNA – Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the Eastern Regio= nal Minister, on Friday expressed displeasure at the performance of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a waste management company, especially in Koforidua. He said Koforidua was being engulfed in filth and urged Zoomlion to clean the municipality.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo said this when he presented 40 pairs of Wellington boots, rakes, shovels and wheel barrows on behalf of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to Zoomlion Company to be used in a special clean-up exercise to be led by the company next week. He said the donation was to support the company to be able to do effective cleaning of all areas in the municipality. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo said mosquito spraying programme of Zoomlion was no= t being effective because the communities were dirty and so the breeding points of the mosquitoes kept increasing.

He reminded Zoomlion of the mandate given them to ensure that Ghana was clean and added that by giving the donation he was tasking them to wake-u= p from their slumber. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo said the better Ghana agenda also meant cleanliness and better sanitation to guarantee the health and wellbeing of the people and=

urged the public to support Zoomlion when the time comes for the clean-up=

exercise. Mr Ernest Kusi, the regional supervisor of Zoomlion who received th= e items, thanked the minister and assured him that the task given them woul= d be duly executed to ensure that Koforidua becomes clean.
