Ofosu-Ampofo is commended for reducing road accidents

Koforidua, Feb. 16, GNA – Mr Mike Hammah, the Minister of Transport, has commended Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Eastern Region Minister, for his involvement and intervention that has led to a reduction in accident rate in the Eastern Region.

A letter of commendation issued by the Ministry and signed by Mr Hamah, noted that “Your active participation in road safety campaigns has led to a reduction in a number of road crashes in the Eastern Region before, during and after the 2009 Christmas and New Year festivities”. The statement commended the Regional Minister for his commitment and dedication towards road safety programmes and activities in the country. It expressed appreciation to Mr Ofosu-Ampofo and appealed to all Ghanaians to show unparallel concern and love to help save valuable human lives and properties on the roads. The statement tasked drivers to place premium on the lives of their passengers by avoiding over-speeding and drunk driving.
