Ofosu-Ampofo hands-over Region to incoming Minister

Koforidua, Feb. 15, GNA – The out-gone Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has handed-over the administration of the Eastern Region to the newly sworn-in Regional Minister, Dr Kwasi Akyem Apea-Kubi at a brief ceremony at Koforidua.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo thanked the regional heads of departments, who were present, for their co-operation during his two years service as a Regional Minister.

He urged them to extend the same level of co-operation and support to the new Regional Minister and he assured Dr Apea-Kubi that he had come to meet a family that was very co-operative and supportive. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo asked Dr Apea-Kubi to ignore rumours by an Accra base= d newspaper that there was tension in the region. He advised staff of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to find out more about issues when they were in doubt and not to rush to publish rumours and falsehood.

Dr Apea-Kubi, a former Medical Officer at the Koforidua Regional Hospital, called for maximum support from the staff of the RCC and assured them of his readiness to respond to their calls anytime.
