Ofoase/Ayirebi MP wins NPP parliamentary primaries

Chia (ER), May 3 GNA – Mr David Oppon-Kusi, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Ofoase/Ayirebi, was elected to contest the seat on NPP ticket in Election 2012, at the party’s primaries at Chia.

He polled 209 votes to defeat Mr Victor Owusu Ahinkorah, a former District Chief Executive for Birim North, who had 76 votes, Mr Emmanuel Asiedu, an educationist, who obtained 52 votes, and Mr Samuel Tufuor, a lecture at the Pentecost University College, who polled 16 votes. A total of 11 ballots were rejected.

Mr Oppon-Kusi, called on NPP supporters to unite for a resounding victory in 2012 General Election. The MP said he would work hard to bring development, particularly, Information and Communication Technology training, to enhance education, to the area.
