Offuman wants to settle dispute through prayers

Offuman (B/A) April 22, GNA- The people of Offuman have declared Friday, April 23, a day of prayers and fasting to resolve a 11-year-old protracted chieftaincy dispute.

The chieftaincy problem was as a result of the death of the Omanhene of the Traditional Area and is pending before the Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs.

The people took the decision at a meeting convened by the Assembly members for Dampaso and Abase, Mr Daniel Ofosu-Boamah and Mr Osei Ahiamah in efforts to resolve the dispute.

The meeting brought together the two factions, pastors of the Roman Catholic, Apostolic and Methodist Churches, opinion leaders including Mr Thomas Ahimah, 1987 National Best Farmer and Director of Offuman Agriculture Project, and kingmakers who constitute the Offuman Traditional Council.
