The Offinso police have scaled-up its crime prevention effort to assure the people including traders and travelers of adequate security cover, especially during the Yuletide.

Among other measures, there is 24-hour patrol, mobile snap checks in crime prone areas and police visibility.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Edward Oduro-Kwateng, the Divisional Commissioner, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that they were also checking vehicles for offensive weapons, illicit drugs and smuggled goods.

He said district commanders have been directed to keep skeletal staff in the offices and get more of their personnel on the ground to make sure that people went about their daily activities without fear, adding that, they have the logistics to achieve this goal.

ACP Oduro-Kwateng said their strong presence was helping to bring discipline on the roads and called for understanding and cooperation with the police.
