New Abirem — The Birim North District Assembly (BNDA) is putting up a three-storey office complex at the district capital, New Abirem, to serve as offices, assembly hall and many other purposes.

Speaking to the Chronicle, the Birim North District Chief Executive, (DCE), Mr. Victor Biscuff Owusu Ahenkorah, said the project which will cost the assembly over ?1.8 billion is in three phases and is expected to be completed within 17 months.

He hinted that after the completion of the building, a number of organisations such as the District Police Headquarters and others which have been scattered in some of the towns in the district due to lack of office accommodation at New Abirem would be sited at the district capital for easy co-ordination.

Suren and Tagoe Construction Limited are the contractors working on the project.
