Odumase L.A. primary appeals for new school block

Odumasi (ER), Dec. 4, GNA- The Odumasi Local Authority (L.A.) Primary School in the Birim South District of the Eastern Region, on Tuesday made an urgent appeal to the assembly, to construct a new classroom block to replace the present dilapidated structure. Nana Kwaku Abam, chief of the town, made the appeal when he visited the school to see the deteriorated nature of the block. He described the school structure, as a “death trap”, which he said does not promote a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning. According to him, the condition of the block was so bad that anytime it threaten ed to rain, classes had to be suspended and the pupils sent home.

He appealed to the assembly to take steps to construct a new building to forestall any disaster in the future. Nana Abam also advised parents to avoid engaging their children in diamond winning and other economic activities at the expense of their education. 4 Dec. 07
