Odotobri Rural Bank supports best teacher’s awards

Obuasi, Dec. 5, GNA – The Odotobri Rural Bank with its head office at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District has donated two double-decker fridges and two 21-inches television sets to support the organization of the best teacher awards ceremony at the Obuasi municipality. Mr G.F Opoku, Supervising Manager, said the bank had over the years offered such assistance to the Obuasi Education Directorate. He said the bank enjoyed healthy relationship with the education directorate and would not shirk its corporate responsibility to support efforts towards improving education delivery in the municipality. He said the bank had an enhanced corporate image and that it would continue to sustain it by being responsive to its social responsibilities.

Mr Opoku said the banking industry had become competitive and that Odotobri would do everything possible including the introduction of modern banking practices to keep pace with the competition. Mrs Beatrice Boakye Ansah Prempeh, the Obuasi Municipal Director of Education who received the items, commended the bank for its support that would help in motivating the teachers to perform. “We want to get our teachers motivated and this donation will help motivate teachers,” she said.

Mrs Prempeh said records were there to show the numerous supports the bank had offered to the directorate in its efforts at improving education standards in the municipality.

“We have sent appeals to commercial banks and other organizations to support us in honouring our hardworking teachers and Odotobri is the first banking institution to respond to our appeal and we are very grateful to them”, she said.
