Oda St Luke Methodist Cathedral gets new musical instruments

Akyem Oda Jan. 31, GNA – Nana Okoda-Darko, Gyasehene of Akyem Kusi, has donated musical instruments to the youth of Akyem Oda ST Luke Methodist Church-Ghana. Presenting the instruments, the chief said the gesture was in fulfillment of a promise he made to the church four years. Nana Okoda-Darko, who is based in the USA, said he has already donated towards the construction of a conference hall for the church and promised to sustain his support for the religious organisation. He appealed to Ghanaians living abroad to contribute to the development of their communities back home.

The Very Reverend Samuel Kweku Opoku, Synod Secretary of the Akyem Oda Diocese of the Methodist Church-Ghana, received the instruments on behalf of the church. He thanked Nana Okada-Darko for the gesture and asked for God’s blessings for him. He appealed to individuals and organisation to support churches to enable them to transform the lives of the people. In another development, Nana Okada-Darko promised to assist Anita Mensah, a 17-year-old girl, at Akyem Oda, to undertake apprenticeship in dressmaking. He has already provided the girl with a sewing machine and paid her apprenticeship fee of GHC 500. 30 Jan. 2010
