Obuasi NDC commends Mahama for Ackon nomination

Obuasi NDC commends President for nominating John Alexander Ackon as Deputy Minister.

The Obuasi constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has commended President Mahama for nominating Mr. John Alexander Ackon as deputy Minister for Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs. His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, In accordance with articles 79 of the 1992 Constitution, released his fourth list of Deputy Minister nominees on Tuesday.

In a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of the president Dr Raymond Atuguba, Mr. Ackon, who is currently the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi, was named as deputy Minister for Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs.

In a release signed by the constituency secretary, Daniel Fordjoe, the party noted “it is a great honour and a voluminous pleasure to have H.E The President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama appoint and elevate our MCE”.

“As executives, we cannot embrace this honour alone with Mr. Ackon and therefore will like to us this platform to show our greatest gratitude to the Clergy, all Chiefs in Obuasi, Ackon for 2012 campaign Team, the media as well as our political opponents”.

The party in conclusion asked for God’s wisdom and knowledge for the nominee as he prepares to go through vetting by Parliament.
