Obuasi Municipal Assembly meets

Obuasi (Ash), Nov.18, GNA-The Presiding Member of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly (OMA), Nana Asirifi Asare 11 has suggested the need for regular forum between the sub-committee chairmen of the Municipal and two district assemblies in the Adansi Traditional Area, to facilitate development.

He said regular interaction between members of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, Adansi South and newly created Adansi North would facilitate progress and mutual trust.

Nana Asare was addressing the fourth ordinary meeting of the assembly at Obuasi on Wednesday.

He said: “Our meetings should not be used to fan or settle personal scores. Partisan interest should also not be given a chance, let us see ourselves as one people entrusted with the responsibility of developing the municipality”.

Nana Asare appealed to members to step up revenue generation. “Let me assure all those who are directly responsible for the collection of the assembly’s revenue that… I will be the first to endorse strict sanctions against any collector or member of staff caught to be indulging in fraudulent deals.”

Mr Joe Boampong, Municipal Chief Executive commended the Municipal Directorate of Education, for striving to place the municipality first on this year’s national league table of the Basic Education Certificate Examination.
