Observing minute silence for Mills is hypocrisy – Akufo-Addo fired

The Central Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who is also the Campaign Spokesperson for the Regional Campaign Task Force, is incensed by what he termed political hypocrisy being exhibited by opposition leader, Nana Akufo-Addo.

The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party had requested for a minute silence for former President Atta Mills at Ekumfi Otuam, the hometown of the late leader, during his recent tour to the Central Region.

Mr. Dawood recalled incessant attacks and insults on Mills he said was led by Akufo-Addo, in which he referred to the late president Mills as “Professor do little”. He was addressing a rally at the Agona Swedru Old Zongo in the Central Region.

“Hope you remember who referred to Agya Atta Mills as Professor Do Little?” he retorted. “They did unthinkable and unimaginable things to Prof Mills but he did not mind them even to the point of going to Parliament dressed in mourning clothes to show him ‘spiritual’ red card and he died.

“Today, the hypocritical flagbearer of the NPP, can go to Ekumfi Otuam to request for a minute silence for Prof? Can you imagine? Was it not Akufo-Addo who taunted Prof Mills that he was a sick man? Even to the point of issuing press statement when the late President had to seek medical attention abroad in 2012?

This is the time to punish his hypocrisy, dishonesty and unprincipled nature by voting massively for President John Mahama who has kept faith with us in the Region,” he said amidst thunderous applause.

Kwasi Dawood appealed to the electorate to vote massively for President John Mahama in order to eliminate or reduce “political hypocrisy from our body politic because Akufo-Addo represents political dishonesty and hypocrisy.” The rally was attended by Ambassador Alhaji Said Sinare, Alhaji Baban Larmin Abu Sadat and some executives of the NDC.

Alhaji Sinare who is the founder of Zongo4NDC donated 100bags of cement to help with the construction of the Oldest Makaranta in Agonaman situated at Old Zongo with the pledge to do more after paying a courtesy call on the Chiefs, Imam’s and elders of the community before going to the rally grounds.
