Obasanjo flies back home

Accra, Sept. 10, GNA – Nigeria President Olusegun Obasanjo left Accra on Friday for home after participating in the National Prayer Breakfast.

President Obasanjo was the main speaker at the event which brought together cabinet Ministers, political party leaders and representatives, the business community and Members of Parliament.

President John Agyekum Kufuor and Foreign Minister Nana Akuffo Addo were among those who saw him off.

The Prayer Meeting sought to foster unity and peace in the country. It was part of continental initiative to organise annual National Prayer Breakfasts in at least 30 African countries by the year 2021.

The meeting takes inspiration from the annual national prayer meetings organised in the United States and some organisations. It was organised by the major churches in the country under a 14-member committee chaired by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr S. K. Boafo.
