Nyinahinhene commends government for provision of electricity

Nyinahin (Ash), March 17, GNA – Nana Amanpene Boateng Twum II, chief of Nyinahin in the Atwima District of Ashanti has commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for providing the township and other 23 surrounding communities with electricity.

He further commended the government for creating the Atwima-Mponua district with Nyinahin as the district capital.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Nyinahin on Saturday, Nana Boateng Twum said for several years, the people had lived in darkness until the NPP came to power and initiated the project, which had finally been inaugurated.

He however, appealed to the contractor working on the water project to speed up work to save the people from further suffering. Nana Boateng Twum renewed his appeal to the government for boarding and lodging facilities, a science laboratory and additional classroom blocks for the Nyinahin Secondary School to enable the school to increase its intake of students.

He also called for the upgrading of the Nyinahin hospital by completing the construction of the maternity block and a theatre, which had stopped.

On the President’s Special Initiative (PSI) on Cassava and Palm oil, Nana Boateng Twum said his traditional council was prepared to release land to people who were prepared to go into these initiatives and asked private investors to set up small-scale industries in the area to offer employment to the youth.
