Nyinahin (Ash), April 17, GNA – The Nyinahin Traditional Council was awarded 100 Ghana cedis to Miss Portia Twumwaa for obtaining the best result in last year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Atwima-Mponua District. Currently attending the T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Kumasi, Twumwaa was a pupil at the Nyinahin Salem Junior High School. Nana Amanpene Twum Boateng, chief of Nyinahin who presented the cash to Twumwaa, lauded the young girl for her outstanding performance which has brought glory and pride to the district, her parents and the school.

He pledged the council’s support for all candidates who would perform well in the upcoming BECE as a means to motivate other pupils to learn hard. The chief said measures would be instituted soon to curb indiscipline among the youth in the area. Mr Nimo Twumasi, father of Twumwaa, thanked the council and said the money had come at the right time to help him to educate his daughter. 17 April 09
