Nyinahin Government hospital appeals for ambulance

The Nyinahin Government Hospital in the Atwima-Mponua District has appealed for an ambulance to enable the facility to promptly respond to emergencies.

The hospital’s ambulance broke down more than two years ago and has been at the workshop since then, Alhaji Dr Yusif Adamu Al-Hassan, the Medical Superintendent, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

He said the hospital was forced to transport patients on referral in pick-up vehicles to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, a distance of about 60 kilometers.

Alhaji Dr Al-Hassan appealed to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), corporate bodies and non-governmental organizations to assist the hospital to acquire an ambulance.*
