NYEP to recruit 800 people for road module in Western Region

Sekondi, Oct. 6, GNA – About 800 people are to be employed under the Road Repairs and Maintenance Module of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) in the Western Region. Mr Joseph Nelson, Regional Co-ordinator of NYEP, who made this known to the Ghana News Agency in Sekondi on Tuesday, said 16 districts would engage about 40 people each for the module. In the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, about 20 people would be employed in each of the four sub-Metropolitan areas. Mr Nelson said those to be employed would be trained and work on roads that have not been awarded on contract to avoid duplication of roles by contractors. He said so far, about 6,000 people have been recruited for the other modules of the programme while staffing is going on for the teaching, health and community protection assistant modules.
