NYEP enrolment in Ejisu Juaben Municipality

Ejisu (Ash), May 22, GNA – Some 2,730 youth in the Ejisu Juaben Municipality have been registered under the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), Mr Kofi Yeboah, Municipal Co-ordinator said on Wednesday.

Mr Yeboah told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Ejisu that the number comprised 1,220 men and 1,510 women.

He gave the breakdown of the registered people for the various modules as teaching 848, health 859, sanitation 185, information Communication Technology 105, Small Scale Trading 111, Agriculture 291 and Community Police 257. Mr Yeboah said not all those who have registered with the programme had been employed but added that, efforts were being made by the government to engage the others before the end of the year. He urged the youth to study hard to further their education in order to be marketable. He commended those who have been employed as teaching assistants for their commitment to duty and entreated those in other modules also to work hard and improve productivity in the country.
