Nyankomase JSS gets new block of classrooms

Jukwa Nyankomase (C/R) June 28, GNA- Mr Samuel Yaw Agyebie-Kessie, District Chief Executive of Twifo-Heman-Lower Denkyira, on Monday inaugurated a 229.2-million- cedi block of classrooms for the Jukwa Nyankomase Junior Secondary School.

The European Union (EU) committed 152.8 million cedis towards the project whilst the District Assembly and the beneficiary community contributed 76.4 million cedis.

Mr Agyebie-Kessie commended the EU for contributing to the development of education in the district, and expressed the hope that the Union would assist in other development projects. He said the assembly would ensure that other communities benefited from the sixth phase of the project.

Mr Agyebie-Kessie appealed to the community to take good care of the school project through regular maintenance.

The Reverend Samuel Oto Bimpong, Deputy Programme Manager of EU National Micro-Project, commended the district for assisting in the implementation of 25 projects under the 5th micro-programme. He said the micro projects were executed through communal labour and through contracts.

Mr Prince Arhin, District Coordinator of National Disaster Mobilisation Organisation, appealed to teachers of the school to encourage the children to plant trees in the school compound to serve as wind brakes. 28 June 05
