Nwabiagya Rural Bank supports children of accident victims

Abuakwa (Ash), July 20, GNA – The Nwabiagya Rural Bank has instituted a scholarship package for 29 children of Abuakwa Catholic Parish choristers who died in a fatal accident on the Kumasi-Sunyani road on May 15, this year.

The package, which is in the form of 1,000 shares each, will enable the children pursue their education to any level through dividends accruing from the shares.

Nana Owusu Sarfo Anwona II, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank, presented the share certificates to the beneficiaries during a commemorative mass at Abuakwa last Sunday. He said the management of the bank received the news of the tragic death of the 35 parishioners with shock and grief. Consequently, he said, the bank therefore accepted to respond to a request from the church to help alleviate some financial problems facing children of the deceased to further their education.
