Nurul Islam JHS tops BECE in Bolga Municipality

Bolgatanga, Jan 30 (Credit Akagre S/180) GNA- The Nurul Islamic Junior High School (JHS) emerged the best public school in the 2007 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Bolgatanga Municipality.

Mr. Fred Azuntaba, Examination Officer for the Municipality, announced this at a day’s workshop to strategise towards improving the performance of JHS in the BECE examination for JHS headteachers in the Municipality, in Bolgatanga on Wednesday. He urged teachers to upgrade their knowledge and skills to enhance teaching and learning to enable students pass their examinations and also advised the headmasters to ensure strict supervision of school activities.

Miss Eileen Hood, Education Advisor at the Bolgatanga Municipal Education Directorate and facilitator of the workshop, took participants through strategies of improving monitoring and supervision of students’ performances in the BECE and analysis and interpretation of BECE results among others. 30 Jan 08
