Nurses quarters commissioned

Jumapo (E/R), Dec.18, GNA- The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Nana Adjei Boateng has noted that the many infrastructural projects that had been funded from the HIPC facility indicates that Ghanaians have really worked hard to boost the economy. “The fact that the nation has been able to raise such amount, which would have been used to service debts, was the best alternative for the country,” he said.

He, therefore, called on all beneficiary communities of the HIPC relief projects not to politicise the initiative.

Nana Adjei Boateng was speaking at a durbar of chiefs and people Oyoko and Jumapo when he inaugurated a two-bedroom nurses’ quarters and a Maternal Health Reproductive Centre at Oyoko and Jumapo respectively on Wednesday.

The two projects were built at a total cost of 190 million cedis funded from the HIPC relief funds to improve health care delivery in the two communities and to attract nurses to the area.

The MCE called on the communities to create a peaceful environment for the nurse who would occupy the quarters.

He reminded whoever would occupy the quarters to “owe it as a responsibility to be on twenty-four hour call service to the community”. The chief of Oyoko, Nana Kodua Kesse thanked the Assembly for putting up the facility and pledged the community’s co-operation in maintaining a good relationship with the nurses.
