Nurse Slaps Policeman On Duty

A 44-year-old nurse has found herself in the grips of the law for allegedly assaulting a policeman on duty.

The suspect, Juliana Konamah, currently resting in the cells of the Adenta District Police command, allegedly assaulted Constable Samuel Osei Fosu on Thursday when the police officer on duty enquired why she was driving a tinted glass vehicle without a number plate.

The victim, who received bruises on the face and eye balls, was however rushed to the nearest hospital for medical attention.

Narrating the story to DAILY GUIDE, the Adenta District Police Commander, Stephen Ahiatafu, said he was a witness to the act.

“Around 1:30pm Thursday, while returning from Ashalley Botwe, we spotted this Kia Sportage private car, with tinted glass and without a registration number plate displayed on the rear of the car,” he said.

When signalled by the policeman to stop for questioning, she failed and continued moving.A police vehicle chased and crossed the suspect a few metres away.“Lo and behold, we realized the vehicle was being driven by a woman and so we asked her to accompany us to the police station,” he stated.

Constable Fosu was therefore asked to join the suspect’s vehicle and escort it to the police station. The suspect then refused to head towards the directed destination and rather drove the constable towards Ritz Junction.

Sensing danger, the policeman attempted to stop the car and this infuriated Juliana Konamah who gave him some beatings in the face.

She gave the constable some hefty slaps in the presence of the district commander. With the help of the district commander, the suspect was sent to the district police station for questioning while the bruised police constable was sent to the hospital.
