NUGS passes vote of no confidence on its president

Accra, Dec. 5, GNA – The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), has passed a vote of no confidence on its President, Mr Anthony Abotsi Afriyie. At an emergency congress on Saturday, the union said Mr Afriyie had been removed from office with immediate effect. It said the decision was reached after careful deliberation on the actions and inactions of the president to resolve the numerous challenges facing the union.

A statement signed by Christian Yaw Adinkrah and Israel Venunye, Secretary and Chairman respectively of the Steering Committee, said in line with article 41 sub-section B of NUGS’ constitution, the Secretary, Mr Patrick Adonoo, would act as president. It said; “Congress hereby notifies all state institutions both private and public that any transactions with the removed President, Mr Anthony Abosti Afriyie, is at their own risk and NUGS would not be liable for such dealings.”
