NUGS holds national debate Wednesday

As part of plans to provide a platform for intellectual discourse among students to generate ideas about how to solve the economic challenges facing Ghana, the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), has announced that it intends holding a National Debate Forum.

The event, which will be held at the auditorium of the University of Ghana School of Law, is slated for 17 August 2016, a statement issued by Thomas Takyi, Press Secretary, NUGS, said.

“NUGS wishes to inform and invite all stakeholders, member institutions, all Ghana students and the general public to its upcoming NUGS National Debate 2016,” the statement said.

“In line with NUGS’ struggle for students and youth interest, the national debate seeks to provide a platform for an intellectual discourse between students that would suggest solutions to our economic challenges as a country and educate us financially.”

The debate, NUGS said, will have representatives from the Bank of Ghana, MTN Mobile Money, the Institute of Economic Affairs, IMANI Ghana, as well as the Dean of University of Ghana, among others gracing the event.
