NUGS executives kick against Akufo-Addo’s award

Some executives of the National Union of Ghana Students have kicked against the decision to confer an award on the 2012 presidential Candidate of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

They accused a faction within the Union of unilaterally conferring the statesman of the decade award on the flagbearer.

Speaking to XYZ News, Treasurer of the Union, Precious Asiedu-Gyan, said the decision is politically motivated.

He said the President of the Union is a former TESCON President while the Secretary is a strong NPP member.

She added that most of the executives in the student body were not consulted about the conferment of the award hence their decision to kick against it.

“It is a group of people who are doing that in the name of the union. None of the executives are aware.

“It is politically motivated because the President is a former TESCON President and the lady who joined her is a serious NPP member”.
