The 47th Annual Delegates Congress of the National Union of Ghana Students, NUGS, ended abruptly without the election of new leaders to manage the students’ body.
The event which took place on the campus of the Central University College at Prampram last weekend was fraught with skirmishes over the legitimacy of one Jude Sekley to contest the Presidency.
The congress was forced to a premature end when another student from Zenith College secured a court injunction to stop the conduct of the Presidential election.
A judicial committee investigation to verify the legitimacy of Jude Sekley, as a student of Zenith College was set aside by the vetting committee; allowing Jude to go through the vetting process.
One of the many students who disagreed with proceedings went ahead to stop the presidential election through a court injunction.
NUGS President, Andrews Gyan tells Ultimate radio’s Bernard Buachi, an agreement was reached with other executives to postpone the entire election indefinitely and deal with the issues arising after the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Election Petition.
