Ntiribuoho wants road repaired

Ntiribuoho (Ash), June 24, GNA – The chiefs and people of Ntiribuoho in the Afigya-Kwabre

district have appealed to the government to act quickly to rehabilitate the seven-and-a-half kilometre

Afrancho-Ntiribuoho-Bomso road. The bad nature of the road has become a major source of worry to the people as drivers are

refusing to ply it. Mr Sampson Adu-Poku, spokesman for the Community, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that

with the onset of the rains, the road had become virtually impassable. The entire stretch is covered by deep gullies and potholes and many a time travellers to and from

Kumasi are forced to walk the distance from Afrancho. “This situation certainly should not be allowed to continue. Everything possible should be done

to improve the surface to end the nightmare of travellers on this road.” Mr Adu-Poku, a former assembly member for the area, said the people had been organizing

routine communal labour to fill the potholes but this could not be of any help due to the extent of

deterioration of the road. He commended the people for their communal spirit and urged them to sustain the effort until

the government intervened. He also encouraged them to support self-help projects in the community, saying that, it was by

so doing that they could hope for assistance from the government. The people are also building a school library and washroom for the local Junior High School
