Nsawam Police looking for family of deceased

The Nsawam Police on Wednesday begun a search for the family of Ama Akufowaah, who was knocked down by a hit-and-run taxi driver and died on the spot on the Suhum-Kumasi Highway.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Samuel Ntoso of the Nsawam Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), told the Ghana News Agency that the victim, aged about 55 years, was believed to have come from Gomoa Fete in the Central Region.

DSP Ntoso said the late Ama Akufowaah was crossing the road when the incident occurred.

He said the body had since been deposited at the Nsawam Government Hospital Mortuary awaiting identification by the family and post-mortem.

Sergeant Albert Agyei Nkansah, Investigator, said his search at Gomoa Fete proved futile as he could not trace the family of the deceased.
